Dr. Abraham van Helsing
"
Nosferatu’s bite opens your eyes to a world where you see what he sees—and he sees what you see. afraid to speak. Trust nothing.
".
For every Dracula, there must be a van Helsing. There must be a keeper of all the sacred and profane knowledge needed to stop the evil force. Part mathematician, part priest. While Mina fits the pieces together, the Dutch doctor provides context and doctrine. But has the good-natured doctor met his match or is it indeed just a match with van Helsing as the bishop?
50s and up, must speak with a thick Dutch accent. Aside from Renfield, there is perhaps no more iconic character. He is all light, no dark, even though his past has plenty of grey. Should be played with sincerity and integrity and not a matinee mad scientist. While Seward grounds the story, van Helsing is the lightning rod.
